However it lacks the feel of the first edition, very disappointed by the rules and changes. I played the 7th Sea card game back in the day. I loved the game lore and have always thought about picking up some of the books I recently saw the new edition is out.

Keep it up with the reviews! I'm glad that it helped! No lie, I like the core rulebook for 2E, but found the rest of the books to be My friends and I stuck with 1E setting with 2E mechanics and we hacked what was needed when it was needed.
The game did fall apart over time due to schedules and some rather annoyed comments from players about new releases. As for the reviews, I will do my best to keep writing. After a couple of sessions I can say with great certainty, that the 2nd edition is a great disappointment. The resolution system is a marginal improvement at best. The backgrounds are artificial limitations much like classes, totally unnecessary for a fiction simulator. Story rules are a more complicated version of the first edition backgrounds. Now you have Virtue and Hubris why do I have to have them?
All in al not very elegant. The new country, like fuax-Russia, does not really give a swashbuckling feel. The magic styles became more detached from the setting, specifically the new ones: fuax-witchcraft and faux-demon summoning in swashbuckling See more game, really? The art are is ok, but far from great.
Half of it could go into any fantasy game, and generally they lack the unified look of the first edition. Future books will deal with Aztecs and Africa, which are interesting, but I would rather see a city detailed or part of a country. Again, much more swashbuckling then dealing with aztecs. Both as a fantasy game and a as a FATE like fiction simulator, there are better ones out there. Which is disappointing as Wick's Houses of the Blooded itself is a far better design and more thought through then 7th 2nd edition.
My recommendations are: if you like FATE, use the 1st edition with FATE rules, if you are looking for a more fantastic swashbuckling setting, there are better ones out here. I have been waiting to get a copy of this but after reading the reviews and what not, it sounds more like a steer clear of it type of game, like its a rushed product that just took a bunch of KS backers to the cleaners Sounds too much like a story telling POS game than a good ol' fashioned rpg, can't stand FATE like stuff and that's what this sounds like.

But I get game for children, without any character from 1st edition. It is any heroic rpg. Each of these books details a particular nation, expanding the culture and potential characters to be found there. There is also a lot of detail on the various non-player characters NPCs that can be found in the country as well as their secrets.
